Welcoming girls from across Moray and Speyside, we offer football training for girls born between 2013 and 2006. Based in Elgin, Moray we have age appropriate training sessions for young female footballers who want to play in a girls’ team.
Moray Girls Football Club was established in 2009 by a group of parents who were keen to provide the girls in the Moray community with an opportunity to be part of a local football team. The Club is also Scottish FA Quality Mark Bronze Club. The Club has always put emphasis on developing girls as both players and people.
Our Club follows guidelines laid out by Scottish Womens Football (SWF) and the Scottish Football Association (SFA) on how best to develop our young people. As players we encourage our young people to develop their technical, tactical, mental and physical capacities and as players, we encourage our young people to respect
their opponents, team-mates and themselves and to compete to the best of their ability while respecting the laws of the game.
Our Club is a registered charity and is run completely by volunteers, registered coaches plus several parent helpers. Our coaches ensure there is someone to train our young players and give up a lot of their time to do so. Likewise, our parent
helpers also dedicate their time to fund-raising, administration tasks and assisting coaches with match-day duties.
The aim of the Club is to provide a safe environment and to encourage and promote the development of football and health within the community of Moray through the provision of youth (or senior teams) team for girls that foster fair play, participation
for all, irrespective of race, colour, religion, sexuality or disabilities. The Club will support every volunteer to enable them within Moray Girls FC. The Club will expand the provision of football, ensuring the continued growth of grassroots football in our Community.

The Scottish FA’s Quality Mark system is designed to support and recognize the work of clubs and teams who have a desire to be the very best they can be. To gain one of the awards – Entry, Standard, Development, Community or Legacy a club must reach the requirements for each level. The criteria is aimed at improving or supporting management, development structures, administration, planning and welfare. Moray Girls Football Club are currently a Bronze Quality Mark club with ambitions of maintaining Bronze status.
Each sponsor will get their logo printed on the Kit top and the Club will also advertise on social media of the sponsor and to thank them.
The pitches required for training and games are all pre-booked with the Moray Council. Coaches will have organised this in advance as much as possible. It is responsibility of each team to ensure no litter is left after training or games and we leave everything clean and tidied away. With the Cooper Park facility, please make sure that all equipment is returned to the Pavillion.
Moray Girls FC is committed to ensuring that every child who takes part in football, in any capacity, is able to participate in an enjoyable and safe environment, which promotes inclusion and protects them from harm, poor practice, exploitation, bullying or abuse. The Club values a rights-based approach within our sport, and our child wellbeing and protection policy is based on the fundamental rights of children as set out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
